Finnian's Irish Tavern, Port Macquarie
Paul from Beach Port B & B highly recommended Finnian's for their $10 lunch specials. I must admit, a steak and salad for $10 is an unbelievable deal anywhere these days. The portion of steak was large and cooked to perfection. Service was great and so was the atmosphere. Highly recommend it!

Summerhill Pyramid Winery, Kelowna, BC
This establishment is truly a class act in every sense of the word. My family went for dinner to Summerhill a few years ago and unfortunately the power went out in the entire area shortly after ordering our meal. We had a group of about 10 people, ordered our wine and dinner and the waitress told us that they expected the power to be returned momentarily. After approximately one hour, she came back to inform us that she was not sure when power would be restored and it was our decision as to whether we wanted to continue waiting. Everyone was starving and we decided to go to another restaurant. As a token of goodwill, Mr. Stephen Cipes, the owner of Summerhill sent us a gift certificate for two, unlimited wine and anything on the menu. Now that is the ultimate in customer service. The meal, wine & services was exceptional! Thank you Mr. Cipes! You went far beyond the call of 'GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE'.

Minstrel Cafe and Pub, Kelowna BC - Not So Much!!
We have given this restaurant the benefit of the doubt on three separate occasions, thinking that each visit was an off night. Well...THREE STRIKES YOUR OUT! Every meal we have had at this establishment has been sub par, to put it politely. The last straw was my birthday dinner when I was charged $1.97 for a glass of water with lime juice plus $1.50 for each refill. Leslie was charged $2.47 for a cranberry soda & $1.50 for every refill.
I asked for water with lime, which I have done at every restaurant I have visited for the past 38 years and never before have been charged. I questioned the waitress about the charge thinking it was an error. She came back a few minutes later saying the bar manager refused to deduct the charge from the bill. I emailed the owner twice over the period of a few months but never heard back.
This is the last time we will ever visit this restaurant. I am convinced the owner must be writing most of the positive reviews on Tripadvisor as almost everyone we know that has visited this restaurant shares our opinion!

The Grove Bistro, Kelowna BC
Our good friends took us to The Grove Bistro for their weekend brunch buffet last weekend. For $4.99 (including tea or coffee with unlimited refills) you cannot beat this deal! Although the selection is relatively limited, it was hot, fresh & certainly adequate. The trays were refilled regularly and the service was fantastic. During the week, they offer a "Burger & Beer" lunch special for $4.99. If you want to substitute the beer for a pop, they will discount the price another $1. If you looking for a cheap treat, you cannot beat The Grove Bistro.

Union Jack's Restaurant at Shannon Lake, Kelowna BC...YIKES!
We had the misfortune of dining at this restaurant twice during the month of August 2012, once after a golf game with friends and a couple of weeks later at a charity golf tournament. On the first occasion, the restaurant was virtually empty, maybe 4 other people in the entire place. The waitress took our drink & food order and after waiting 25 minutes, we had yet to receive our drinks. I went to the bar and interrupted her conversation with the bartender and another patron to inquire about the lost drink order and within 5 minutes we had our refreshments. About 25 minutes later, our meals arrived, cold and tasteless!
Our second experience was a Ladies' Charity Golf Tournament with at least 120 people being "served" a buffet dinner. The line-up was long and the food variety & amounts were extremely limited. The owner was serving the guests spartan amounts and by the time we were being served, 50% of the food trays were empty, leaving us with cold vegetables and a small skewer of BBQ'd Chicken Shish Kabob. We expected the trays to be refilled so we could come back for what we had missed but after the last person cleared the line, which was shortly after us, the owner immediately removed the buffet table, never to return. To ad insult to injury, my wife and her friend got up to get our deserts before they disappeared and were scolded by the owner to only take one desert per person. When they informed him that the 4 deserts were for them and their husbands, he briskly turned away without an apology. The overall experience was HORRIBLE!

Elephant Bar, Peoria, AZ
Leslie and I have been patronizing this restaurant for the past 5 years and have yet to be disappointed. The atmosphere is incredible and the place is always busy. Prices are reasonable and they offer an additional 20% off the menu pricing for those over 60 years of age with those with the "Senior Explorer's Card". Best of all, the food is always consistently great!

Smashburger...OVER PRICED & OVER RATED!
OVER PRICED & OVER RATED!! Could have got the same burger at any fast food restaurant for less than 1/2 the price and equally as good. Wont be returning anytime soon!
