Murdering Drug Cartels, crooked cops, best judicial system money can buy... these are just a few reasons why we stopped going to Mexico years ago.  The latest story about an Arizona mother who was arrested on a bus tour by Mexican police for allegedly trying to bring 10 lbs of marijuana into the U.S.  The couple are insisting they were setup and stated the police or military originally requested a $5000 bribe to set her free.

How many similar stories and worse have you heard coming from this lawless country.  It is extremely sad as we loved our time spent in this beautiful country but until tourists begin to put pressure by sending a clear message to this corrupt government to clean up their act, nothing will change.  I know one thing for sure, we will not be travelling to Mexico anytime soon.

To all our American friends, I thought I would let you know that gas in Kelowna this morning went up to $1.48/litre for no apparent reason other than it is a weekend.  Just for you information, that equates to $6.73/gallon.  So the next time your complaining about gas prices in America, THINK ABOUT YOUR NEIGHBOURS TO THE NORTH WHO ARE GETTING SCREWED ROYALLY!!  When I checked last week, gas at the pump in Saudi Arabia was $.60/gallon.

As of today and most days, Kelowna boasts the highest gas prices in the country!

The Killer's final statement in the courtroom was no surprise, her demeanor the same as it has always been...ALL ABOUT JODI  Who knows, the way this media circus is unfolding, she may soon have her own talk show or reality series given her lust for noteriety.  No more "begging for the death penalty" instead, a desperate plea for life in prison, outlining all the good she can bring to the world.

I am not really a proponent of the death penalty but in this case, where we have a self proclaimed murderer admitting to her crime, supported by overwhelming physical and circumstantial evidence, I "was" all for the DEATH PENALTY.  Upon reflection and after hearing her Oscar Winning Performance this morning,  I hope she gets life in prison.  

Many of us would see this potential scenario as true justice for Travis Alexander.

While Jodi Arias is serving her life sentence, she is ambushed by a fellow inmate, stabbed 29 times, shot in the face and has her throat slit from ear to ear, being left on the floor to bleed to death.  


I think that would be justice for Travis Alexander!

Here we go again!  Don't you just love summer in the Okanagan.  We were back in town for less than a week and gas prices went from $1.26 cent per litre and yesterday, they jumped to $1.36 for no apparent reason other than another Calgary oil exec wants to buy a house on the lake!!  I can hardly wait til we come up with an affordable solar car and we can tell big oil to "F" OFF!  After all, they have been srewing us for decades. Something has to give here or the average Joe will by using 1/2 his pay cheque simply to gas up the car.  I am all for free enterprise but this is gouging plain and simple.

Check out the price of gas in Saudi Arabia!!  Recent gas price at the pump $.61 cents/gallon,  Don't they still rule OPEC?  Compare this to Canada at $6.00 DOLLARS/GALLON.  Now tell me something isn't screwy here??

RECENT UPDATE!!!


Glad I waited a day before I posted this article.  With a long weekend upon us, gas prices rose this afternoon to $1.44.9/litre, just to really stick it to the tourists, never mind the locals.  I realize that we as Canadians are the most passive nation in the world but when are we going to have the guts to demand a stop to this!  Stephen Harper, have the guts to stand up to these blood suckers. I'm an Albertan too but enough is enough.

We met these young men a number of years ago and were truly inspired by their magical voices and incredible story of survival, seeking freedom from a tyrannical country.  I strongly encourage everyone to read their  book "The Price Of Freedom" and if possible, try to catch a live performance if your lucky enough to have them visit your community.

For over 5 months, I have been glued to the TV watching this lying, murderous, arrogant excuse for a human being in the courtroom.  In my heart, I hate to give her this much wanted attention as she thrives on her new found, misplaced notoriety.  Yesterday, she was convicted of first degree murder for the brutal slaying of her former love interest, Travis Alexander.  We are good friends of the Goldman Family, whose son Ron was "butchered" by a monster who escaped justice.  Then of course there was Casey Anthony who evaded justice in the death of your young daughter.  Just when I thought I had lost complete faith in the justice system, victory was at hand.  The jury was not fooled by Jodi's lies and deceit and found her guilty as charged on virtually all counts.  It was a travesty to see the character of Travis Alexander being destroyed by the murderer and her defense council but I truly believe that 99% of the public did not believe their outrageous claims.

Now she may get her wish, those "bitter words...I  would beg for the DEATH PENALTY" if I committed this crime.  I am not a proponent of the death penalty but in this case I truly believe it is appropriate.  This morning she claims she prefers death over life in prison but I think she might be trying to play us all once again.  She is a deviant sociopath/psychopath that loves the lime light and attention of your demented fame!  I just hope she gets her wish and mind and leaves this place to burn in hell!
