Kelowna, Paradise Lost? I certainly hope not but am becoming very concerned about the escalating crime, as are most other residents. The article I was emailed this morning did not surprise me given the recent events in K-Town and hopefully the politicians and residents will wake up and realize something has to be done...AND SOON! I found it rather ironic that the article was featured in the Calgary Herald, somewhat like the "pot calling the kettle black". Kelowna is a microcosm of what is happening throughout North America and people tending to turn a blind eye to this new age reality. Drugs appears to be the driving factor and until we reform our drug & crime laws, I don't see things changing anytime soon.
Interesting how they draw a correlation between uncontrolled development growth and the increase in organized crime. Kelowna could have been one of the most beautiful places in the world but the lack of guidelines and regulation concerning development, both present and future, is appalling! Calgary certainly doesn't appear to be far behind!!
