Got up the next morning and went to one of the pools. Loungers were the old, cheap, white resin, most of which were broken and very dirty. The blue & white cushions were discustingly dirty and who knows what crept inside. The pool featured your typical pool bar with drunken Gringos, sunburnt to a crisp! I am really sorry we didnt book the Bahia! The resort cleanliness is very lax and it appears they are really pushing the timeshare component of the resort, people pestering you at every turn. Met couple and their family from Hinton, Alberta. They too have stayed at the Bahia Principe a number of times and Harold hates this place so I am not alone in my feelings. He also wants to move to Bahia but his wife and friends are not too keen. Went to see Jose Marie the Transat rep and she was not very helpful either.
Began to develop a terrible cough after the 5th day and started to feel pretty crappy. Took the vent off the air conditioning duct and that was a mistake...FULL OF MOULD SPORES AND MILDEW!!! I am now quite concerned that I may have mould poisoning. Cyril, a doctor we befriended from Vancouver seemed to conquer with my self diagnosis and suggested I get on some antibiotics immediately.
