The pool is still an empty hole and eye sore. At this point, we are doubtful it will be operational before we leave on November 1. Very disappointing!
A week has past since we arrived in Kelowna and moved into our new luxury rental condo. Once again, Leslie has worked her magic and has the place looking great! At first glance, we were both wondering how the hell we were going to fit all our "stuff" into a 650 square foot condo. She was not impressed and I don't blame her, 38 years of marriage and back where started in a 650 sq ft one bedroom apartment. Although the unit has all the bells and whistles, granite counters, stainless appliances, stunning views of the lake and valley, pool, tennis courts, I think we are both growing a little tired of the gypsie lifestyle. My best girl deserves the house of her dreams, something she can decorate to her liking and call her own. A little over 41/2 months and we will be on the road again with all our worldly possessions in storage for another year. Neither of us can remember what we really own anymore. After this stint, I think we will both be anxious to settle down and establish some roots.

As of today, still no pool! According to those in the know, it will not be operational this year. There are a lot of tourists that have booked weekly rentals here based on the facilities offered and I am seeing a lot of long faces on some of the children as a result of the waterless pool!

As of yesterday, our main road to the complex has been closed due to...GUESS WHAT? SETTLING!!! It is starting to get a little scary around here and I must be honest, we are starting to wonder, along with many other residents, how stable the buildings are. Yesterday we noticed a significant crack that appeared along our patio door and front window. The crack was not there 24 hours ago!

Now we have the roads to the complex sinking and reports of retaining walls failing. How secure are the buildings, that is the BIG question?

It is now October 10, 2012 and nothing has changed. The pool remains closed and the access road to the complex is still closed! NOT A GOOD SITUATION AT ALL!!

I have always been a straight shooter and a go getter. Many have said Leslie must be a saint to have put up with me for over 40 years. We have been business partners since the day we got married and each played an intrigal roll in our business success. There is nothing more important to us than our Family & Friends. Our love of people and travel has allowed us to develop amazing friendships around the world. Archives
