After getting unpacked and settled in, we decided to head to the historical village in the early evening which worked well for us in Zadar. There were still a lot of people milling around and parking is always at a premium but we managed to get a great spot right across the river. The historical villages all seem to be much the same and sadly, very commercialized with tacky vendors selling everything from, sunglasses, hats, gelato, at every turn and restaurant owners begging for your business. Certainly a far cry from the Medieval Villages we visited in France or Spain. Here, they try to get you for everything and we continue to be a little disappointed as we hope the next stop will bring something a little different but it hasn't. We ended the day by having dinner on the beach which was probably the best part of the day, eating and watching the sun set behind the beautiful aqua blue ocean. To cap off the dinner, we indulged in a Croatian Pancake Crepe (palačinke), absolutely marvellous! The one constant here is the weather and the Europeans obviously love this country, especially the Germans. Tomorrow we will get an early start and explore Split. I do have not set my expectations too high.
We arrived in Trogir approximately 2:30 pm. Another scorching day in Croatia with bright, clear, blue skies. We didn't expect Trogir to be quite as busy as it was. The roads were jammed in every direction with license plate from all over Europe. Once again, our accommodation did not quite meet our expectations and were far from what was described on the web page, but that is all part of the adventure. Air conditioning that didn't work, satellite/cable TV that didn't work, a bit of an ant infestation which I got under control in short order.

I have always been a straight shooter and a go getter. Many have said Leslie must be a saint to have put up with me for over 40 years. We have been business partners since the day we got married and each played an intrigal roll in our business success. There is nothing more important to us than our Family & Friends. Our love of people and travel has allowed us to develop amazing friendships around the world. Archives
